ABERDEEN-based fishing, milling and casing recovery provider Ardyne has secured a contract with a major Chinese oil company.
As part of the agreement the company will build tools and equipment to support the work in China’s Bohia Bay basin.
Project managers will provide onshore support for the duration of the project, which will see Ardyne deploy its TITAN system, allowing the client to improve efficiency with casing recovery and re-drill of existing wells, with a recent TITAN operation reducing rig time by 94.5 hours.
Ardyne said proven results with TITAN, which has been run successfully more than 1,200 times around the world, secured the contract, with support from Scottish Development International, Scotland’s international business advice, support and funding agency who helped develop the opportunity locally in China.
The contract will see engineering support provided from the UK, as well as using the UK developed TITAN technology exported to the region, with local logistics managed through Ardyne’s base in Malaysia.
Alan Fairweather, Ardyne chief executive officer, said: “This again is a demonstration of Ardyne’s strategy in action – developing, field testing and commercialising new technology that can deliver real results to our customers using the mature North Sea basin, then scaling up to support other international basins with similar efficiencies.
“For our client, this means we are using our proven technology to show them how to maximise use of their existing infrastructure, saving time and money.
“We look forward to supporting this new and other clients with our evolving suite of technology, knowledge transfer offering and – overall – delivering real results.”
Ian Ross of Scottish Development International, added: “We have been delighted to support Ardyne on the ground in China, especially at a time when Scottish businesses are under more pressure than ever.
“With Ardyne’s technology helping to reduce rig time and increase efficiency during offshore operations, this project aligns to our support in the reduction of carbon emissions as well as providing best practice export advice for the supply chain to ensure profitable and sustainable business.”
