Ardyne's range of specialist services for mid to end life wells continues to grow, with the team successfully installing a single-trip whipstock as part of a slot recovery operation in Norway. Ardyne dressed cement, cut 9-5/8" casing, recovered to surface, ran and set the 13-3/8" whipstock, and milled a window and rathole to target depth. Ardyne has provided casing recovery services for slot recovery since 2004, however whipstock work has previously been subcontracted.
Ardyne's COO Jochem Scherpenisse put the success of the operation down to preparation and training "Ardyne’s team has decades of specialist fishing and remedial experience, and many of us have been running whipstock jobs for years, but our success on this job has only been possible after carefully sharing that operational insight throughout our organisation. The process of bringing whipstock services in-house to Ardyne has included many months of preparation, changes to systems, creation of procedures, and hands-on training for our sales, operations and workshop teams, as well as our field service engineers. It was vital to ensure the competence of every person involved in this operation was top notch, before planning and performing the job. Ardyne has first class systems and processes in place, to enable our ambition to be the global leader in BHA Systems that slash the cost of slot recovery and decommissioning.”
